Burton Hotel - Iconic Vashon - 16”x20” - oil on canvas - 2024

This Victorian-style building, occupies a prominent spot in Burton, perched on the wee bluff that looks to the mouth of Quartermaster Harbor.  It is now a private residence owned by the Denning family, but once was a hotel that mostly served traveling salesman and teachers in Burton's heyday.  I imagine painting this building again, with a storm coming in from the southwest, in order to capture a "Bates Hotel" feeling.
